Hey there my lovely dolls,
And so it started for me too … The Mercedes Benz Fashion Week MALTA first show I had the pleasure to attend and could not have asked for a better way to start other then the much anticipated and awaited showcase of Local and Foreign talent in the New Designers category. An exception total of 13 designers graced the runway at the Sacra Infermeria of the Malta Conference Centre and we were in for s colourful, breathtaking, stylish, outside the box, playful and jaw dropping show.
Kicking off the show was Magro de Vidal, and what a stunning way to start. The revival of the tie-tye designs were just perfectly matched with the flowing kimono’s which are a definate must have for this season. Following was my personal favourite Lukka, who’s reminisce of the early 20’s style makes the collection so wearable. From metallics to sequence to beautifully made shift dresses, make it hard to choose a favourite.

Another designer I was eagerly awaiting was Couture by Gaetano, as I have heard that the designer is talented but what he showcased yesterday just mind blowing, I mean jaw-dropping, sexy and ‘I wish I can pull off that dress’ kind of designs.

Maria Cutajar‘s collection was a breath of fresh air, with the monochrome vibe predominant all throughout, it was easy to fall in love with every single piece, and can we please have a moment of pure fashion silent moment for that turban – which I absolutely MUST HAVE!

Another runway show that was quite unexpected and outside the box but definitely striking was Edith. I would describe the show as audacious and fierce with designs that are not necessarily the ‘ready-to-wear’ kind but definitely once to consider.

Contrasting with the vibe of the night, Fretka and MC Fashion delivered colourful and bright designs and if you love colour you surely would have loved these pieces.

Yet another jaw dropper was surely Mari Ahoy, who’s adventurously sexy designs got people around me talking and wondering how daring the clothes were.

Gabrielle‘s reference to the the Knights of St John (which kinda fit the venue to the dot) was yet another statement collection, with bold and textured material, it was a breeze to pin out my fave of them all.

I love my ‘Mad Hatter’ so when Sarah Caruana Dingli‘s artistic collection, came down the runway, I was thrown in the whole ‘Alice in Wonderland’ story and I applaude the thorough sequining which was to die for!

Making their way down the runway were the models for Poshet! discreetly showcasing the experimental collection of beautiful and delicate dresses and accessories.

If you are still a teen at heart and if slogan-tees are your cup of tea then look no further than DAZE with a vast choice of these tees ready-to-wear off the runway.

Last but honestly not the least is Beyond Couture by the talented Katarina Mikclos Homoly who’s collection was truly a sight to see. Attractive silhouettes blended beautifully with the colourful and snake-like material .

That‘s got to be it for today … until next show.
