Hey there my lovely dolls,
I had to do this blog post as part of the ‘Get to know us’ Maltese Bloggers and Foina from Cruelty Free Malta asked us to write about our current daily makeup routine.
So as they say better late then never right so here it goes …. I like to keep my makeup fresh and natural especially if you think that Summer here in Malta is very hot. So mainly I try to focus most of the attention on my skin. I think the perfect day-time, summer makeup look must be fresh, sun-kissed with a touch of healthy looking glow.
Step 1: Primer – I believe that priming the skin is very important step to take in the Summer months because it will definitely help your makeup last that little bit longer when the temps rise. I have been loving Maybelline Baby Skin primer for a while now, see review here, it is silicone based and makes my skin feel soft and my foundation glides on and stays all day!
Step 2: BB Cream – I have been reaching for my Catrice BB cream in 020, other than any another foundation because of it’s light texture and has the bonus of SPF30. I quite like the amount of benefits that come with the BB cream, it’s pretty long lasting. I do like to set it with powder, as it can last up to 6 hours, which is fantastic for a BB cream. It applies quickly, easily and streak-free when used with the beauty blender. It offers a surprising amount of coverage with a couple of drops of the BB cream, making the product quite lightweight.
Step 3: Concealer – I believe that concealer immediately brightens up any desired area and gives a youthful and awake look. My current go to concealer is the NYX above and beyond full coverage concealer. At the moment, I am enjoying using the concealer up onto my eyelids and use it as a primer. I usually use an eye shadow primer however I find that in summer the concealer does the job better to keep the eyeshadow intact if you know what I mean.
Step 4: Blush or bronzer – I usually don’t opt for both on an everyday basis since like I said, I like to keep it light and easy in the summer months, so I’ll either do an all over bronzer or a coral/bronzy/pinky blush. Just a little something that adds some color and gives that sun kissed glow effect.
Step 5: Eyeshadows – As featured in my dupes series here all I have been grabbing lately is my Makeup Revolution I heart Chocolate palette as it is just perfect. It is basically quite flexible, if you want to use just one eyeshadow for a quick get out of the house every day look your are set, with quite a few choices of pink tones and light browns. I usually tend to blend the pinks and the browns to create more dimension.
Step 6: Eyeliner – Honestly this step is totally dependant how much time I have to get out of the house, but If I to do the liner, I always choose black liners and this Essence Ultra Fine Ink Liner is one of my favorite and again the length of the liner also depends on how much time I have.
Step 7. Mascara – If the eyeshadows and the liner fail in the sense that either you don’t have time or just feel like a fresh look, I tend to pop on a couple of good layers of my current favorite mascara which is L’Oreal Manga Mega Volume.
So there it goes my daily current routine. What summer look have you guys been rocking?
Until next time,
