Hey there my lovelies,
And just like that JUNE came and AGAIN practically flew by, it was such a crazy month … hectic does not even start to describe it, work and family plus trying to juggle everything including my blog. In fact, with so much organizing for new contents and scheduling of posts, I forgot about the monthly faves, so please excuse the delay but here you go this month’s favourites … I have rediscovered a few oldies ….. but goodies … enjoy.
MaxFactor Skin Luminizer foundation in Natural (#50)
I have had this foundation for months now and only used it once!! However, I made up for it as I have been using non stop this month. This skin illuminating foundation from Max Factor is perfect for dull skin coming out of the colder months. Containing light-reflecting particles which help to give your skin a healthy glow and also contains Vitamins B3 and E to nourish the skins natural moisture balance.
Texture is very creamy and is of medium coverage but easily buildable. I have found this foundation as a nice match to amplify a tan on the face. Product comes in a plastic pump bottle which is handy to travel with or throw into your make-up bag without worrying about it smashing! The gold pump, felt a bit cheap and I prefer if it was black. However, the fact that you can see the foundation through the bottle is great as you get to see how much product is left and never run out!
L.A. Girl Pro.Conceal HD in the shades Porcelain and Fawn
Oh my lawd, I got these concealers months ago and never got around in trying them out! So when I decided to give the cream contouring a go they did come in handy. I am loving highlighting and contouring using these two particular concealers.
These Pro Conceal, HD Concealers by L.A. Girl are very inexpensive selling at only $2.99 for 8g of product available from Beauty Joint!
I highly recommend these concealers, great consistency, creamy, crease resistant, high coverage yet of lightweight texture. It camouflages dark circles and evens out skin tone. Blends out nicely and buildable. I quite like the plastic brush tip, which is typical for most of the drugstore concealers even though it’s not very hygienic, I do like to wipe product off after using it. I recommend not squeezing to hard at the tube as it will get messy.
Porcelain which is the lightest shade in the line, it is very fair with yellow undertones. I use it as a highlighter on top of another concealer and I love the end result.
Fawn, which is a very nice shade, yellow-warm toned shade, which is perfect for my skin tone and I love it as a contouring shade. It adds just the right amount of shade to define all around my face. A++++
Catrice Sun Glow Matt Bronzing Powder in Medium Skin
I have not been lucky in finding a good bronzer in a while so when I came across this medium skin bronzer it looked like it matched my skin tone and so glad it did 😉 I love this bronzer as it’s really soft and silky. Pigmentation is amazing for a drugstore product and I love that the product does not contain any shimmer or glitter. I love using it everyday because it is really matt and looks totally natural! Obviously product does not come in any fancy packaging but still it feels sturdy.
The Balm Mary Lou Manizer
I had totally forgotten how much I loved this highlighter! I was in love with it when I first for and used it practically every single day. If you would like to read all about my impression, just head on here. I was so happy to have re-discovered it as it’s just as stunning as I remember. My rating for this product is definitely a 10+. It’s super soft, can be subtle with a light hand, easily buildable and lights up your face. I love it as an inner-corner highlight too, perfect colour for medium skin tones, and pan size is reasonable. It’s super blendable and last for years.
Don’t know if this happens to you (surely it happens to me) no matter how many different lipstick shades I own there will always be the once you reach out for the most and the above three have been the only three I have been using this month, alternating between them, depending on my mood. I just love these colours 🙂
Colourpop: These liquid lipsticks retail for $6.00 through the Colourpop website and it’s definitely a great price. You get 3.2g/0.11 oz worth of product which is a lot considering the price you pay. There are approximately thirty shades from which to choose from. Formula and consistency is amazing and thin which makes it pretty easy to apply and it dries quickly and to a matte finish. The formula glides on fairly easy and patchiness is very minimum with the shade I own. Love the color payoff too. I was not entirely sure of the colour Seesaw, when I first got it as it’s pastel lavender pink shade, did not apply to me, however as you can imagine having made it to the faves list it kind of grew on me. It’s just one of those shades that works once you play around with it.
Qibest: We all love a good bargain, and I do tend to stalk the ebay beauty finds on YT so when everybody was raving on these liquid lipsticks I knew that I needed to have them in my collection. They are called the Qibest Long Lasting Lip Gloss and can be found on Ebay for about £1. The shades that caught my eye was shade 18 which is a beautiful nude/beige shade which reminded me of Jeffree Star’s Celebrity skin and Lime Crime Velvetine’s Cashmere, so needless to say I decided to buy three.
Packing is quite study and looks rather expensive and luxurious. I love the compact size of the product which makes it easy to carry around. I rather enjoy the slopping applicator which make is easier to apply product directly on the lips but I do use a lip brush to line my lips for that precise line. It is super matte and pigmentation is very nice and comes through beautifully. The one thing I do not enjoy is the tackiness and that it take a good 30mins to go away. However when applied lipstick dries instantly and stays in place for hours, unless you goes out to eat and drink, in which case you will need to reapply.
I also, liked that it does not bleed or smudge. Overall I really love the quality, texture and pigmentation and again considering the price tag it’s pretty impressive.
Gerard Cosmetics: Aah Iced Mocha is just perfection. This soft brown shade is such a beautiful shade. I was lucky to have been gifted this beauty from Petra of the Twinbloggers as she received an extra one and I just love it. As previous stated, I love GC lipsticks and the liquid matte range is definitely one of my favorite formulas, since they go on smoothly and are incredibly comfortable and lightweight. The formula is perfect. You can tell just by looking at the swatch that these are flawless! They are also long-lasting, and mostly transfer proof.
So that’s all for this month – a long one but I wouldn’t do the products justice with just a few lines.
Until next time,
