Hey there my lovelies,
So on Wednesday 27th July I headed back to CHIC to get the initial filler treatment. Dr. Charlene Scicluna explained again how the filler works and we decided that my best option is the Juvéderm Ultra Smile (1 syringe x 0.55ml : Price €200) which treatment will lasts 6 to 9 months.
Up next came the numbing cream which I admit it was a must for me even though within the same syringe of hyaluronic acid there’s also some local anaesthetic to make the procedure more comfortable. Then came the injection that went in around the edge of my upper lip. I only felt that initial pinch and the slight pressure of product, after that I didn’t feel anything. However, my eyes still watered when the needle went in which a totally normal reaction. After making sure that the filler was injected were necessary, Dr. Charlene Scicluna gave my lips a massage and we were done.
Obviously enough, the 0.55ml was not fully used, in fact this will be used again in the my review. Immediately after the treatment the difference was clearly visible, despite the puffed up upper lips and the numbing feeling, I left the clinic feeling satisfied but Dr. Charlene Scicluna advised me to come back in 4 weeks time to review (normal review is in 2 weeks but mine clashed with the Clinics shutdown). I am looking forward to the review and getting the rest of the treatment, discuss further the shape of my lips and to add filler where necessary.
Once the numbing effect wore off, my lips did start to ache but nothing unbearable. The pain had drastically decreased by the next day. I did notice that my lips got more swollen as the evening went on and by the next day they were even more swollen but this is totally normal. One thing I really enough is the fact, that besides a little dot on my lip were the initial needle went in, there was no bruising whatsoever.
In all it took a few days for the swelling to go down completely, which I was okay with as no one really noticed anything unless I pointed it out! Also, Dr. Charlene Scicluna, did mention the possibility of lumps coming up, which again is normal as the filler would be still trying to settle in. She advised to massage my lips if that happened.
At the time of writing this post it’s already been two weeks and I am liking what I see and I am really happy with the more defined shape of my upper lip. It is what I was hoping to achieve. However, I am looking forward to my review in 2 weeks time, which is when I will get to see the actual final result.
So that it for the second part of my lip enhancement filler, and I am sorry for the long posts but it is important for me that I bring you the full details and necessary information and I do hope you will be back when I update this post in lieu of the out come of the review.
Finally, finding the right dermal filler for you will depend on your budget, your doctor’s experience and preference and your individual preferences and facial features. What works for your friend may not be the best option for you. Do you research and speak to your consultant as the doctor’s are there to help.
Until next time,
As a token of appreciation, I was given the opportunity to try out certain treatment, for the purpose of this review. All opinions reflect my own personal experience. All thoughts on the treatment are honest.
