Hey there my lovelies,
Welcome back to my Blog!
For this year I will be working on pushing the Spotlight Series to a new level. I really like this series especially as I get to meet lot of different people and use my platform (as small as it may be) to share what they have to say. Comino Mag, has a special place is my heart as they were the first ever mag that approached me to hold an interview. I clearly remember that I was like ‘I think you got the wrong Caroline’ hehe but it was me they wanted to feature so I was beside myself.
Anyways let us get the questions rolling.
Can you tell my readers about yourself?
I am a data scientist, science communicator and an entrepreneur by profession. I am also the founder of an online magazine Comino Magazine which is presented over a number of different platforms.
How did you first get into blogging?
Having found a lack of platforms covered a wide array of content, outside of fashion and beauty, Comino Magazine was created.
How do you manage time to run your blog efficiently?
Content auto-scheduling is every blogger’s best friend (AMEN!!!)
What do you do in your spare time?
Any spare time I have on my hands, I try my best to spend it as productively as possible. Whatever needs to be done, goes off the list. I also try my utmost to spend time relaxing, away from technology and media.
What was the most challenging moment in your blogging journey so far?
Setting up and establishing oneself is always the most challenging aspect of any new venture. It was certainly the most challenging moment, but quality, regular content, has allowed us to build a steady readership.
Have you met anyone interesting/famous on your blogging journey?
Every new person met during this journey, has been interesting. Everyone carries a different baggage of experiences, which are always very interesting.
How active are you on a weekly basis?
Comino Magazine has earned a very strong following and interest. To this end, we are regularly invited to events, shows and opportunities to interview people. Therefore, it does take up a great deal of time, throughout the week.
What do you think is the best social media strategy for getting more visitors to a blog?
1) Get on Twitter. Start following others with similar content and Tweet!
2) Start a Facebook page for your blog. This is a great, additional subscription option for heavy Facebook users, and it can be a means of expanding your platform. I’ve met several new people who “liked” my page and weren’t previously friends with me on Facebook.
3) Regularly share content on Facebook
4) Write catchy headlines that people will want to share.
5) Write compelling content.
Who takes the majority of your photos?
Most of the photography is handled by Mazzard Photography, unless otherwise specified.
Finally, what piece of advise do you give to other bloggers/people who would like to start blogging?
Do what you love. It may not be perfect the first time round, but, if it will help you grow as an individual, all the work and effort you put into it, will all be worthwhile. Do not focus solely on the Maltese market. Having an online blog, will allow you to reach a wider audience. Study branding and basic marketing skills to help you with reaching a larger audience.
I have jotted a few tricks that Denise shared with us and will surely try and implement them for my blog 🙂 As she said all the people I will have the opportunity to meet during this journey of the Spotlight Series will surely leave an impact on me and I am thankful this Blog is allowing me to meet these amazing individuals.
Thank you Denise for your time as it was lovely getting you know you a little bit more and to my readers, hope you enjoyed this feature and do go check out Comino Mag it has amazing content and I am sure you will find something that you will enjoy reading, I know I do 🙂
