Hey there lovelies,
Welcome come back to my Blog!
In a run up to the upcoming Malta Fashion Week I managed to catch up with some designers that are either presenting a fashion show or holding an exhibition during Fashion Week.
For today I bring you the ISLE & AQUA S/S ’17 Swimwear Collection by Giulia Pandolfino. Giulia has already shown us her designs last year during the new designers show that you can catch all the details here. So when a couple of weeks ago Giulia launched her collection during POP in collaboration with Pippa Toledo designs I took off to go check out the collection for myself after having seen some amazing shots on the ISLE&AQUA official Instagram page.
Seeing first hand and up close Giulia’s work is nothing short from amazing, You can tell she does this so with love and passion, the same passion I had the honour to witness last year.
I took the chance to ask about her about the new ISLE&AQUA S/S ’17 collection. She admits that this collection takes inspiration from interior design trends merged with tones captured from nature. Metallic pewter elastic intertwined through rose-gold (LOVE!!!) hardware adds an industrial touch to the ultra glamorous swimwear shapes and cuts.
I quite liked the natural tones such as Aquamarine, Cloud white, Charcoal grey and Sunflower Yellow give the collection a summer-time aesthetic. The use of fine mesh layered over lycra offers a high quality finish that undoubtedly flatters the shape on a women body, whilst also creating a variation of depths and textures.
I must admit that I quite like this collection and I think it will go down well with a lot of people who have a flare for summer. I honestly got my eye on Koh Samui (top) in Charcoal and the Minorca (bottom) in Charcoal too.
I do suggest that if you can make it to fashion week happening at Fort St. Elmo, do drop by to see Giulia’s work, you wont be disappointed. However, if you cannot do not worry, you can check out the full collection here and of course you can shop online. In the case that you wish to try out the swimwear before hand kindly contact Giulia on firstname.lastname@example.org to arrange for a fitting at her studio in Sliema.
In the meantime, feast your eyes on these pictures of the collection official photo shoot.
