Hey there my lovelies,
Welcome back to my Blog!
It is now official awards season is in full swing. Sunday 13th, saw Hollywood’s finest descending on Santa Monica for the 24th Critics’ Choice Awards. This annual ceremony which honors the year in film and television, is known to offer some pretty substantial clues about who might win big at the Oscars.
It is also known as the more relaxed event than other awards calendar dates. This was the mood I got on this year’s red carpet (or blue carpet, to be precise). After the fairy tale dresses and the elegant classic Hollywood glamour of last week’s Golden Globes, many attendees opted to tone down their looks.
To my surprise I found that this mellow mood offered more choices which I liked 🙂
Charlize Theron in Givenchy
Charlize Theron radiated timeless glamour, in a gorgeous Givenchy pleated lamé asymmetrical dress created with a grey to ivory degradé, which was captivating with every turn, much like a storm swirling in the sky radiating a light through the clouds before it calms. 10/10

Gemma Chan in Jason Wu
British actress Gemma Chan swoon in this Jason Wu Collection gown. The gown instantly catches your eye with its exuberant floral print, and vibrant blooms that bring a charming aura to Gemma. 8/10

Debra Messing in Lucia Rodriguez
Debra Messing first Critics Choice Award was a showstopping presence on the red carpet in this beautiful Lucia Rodriguez sheer black gown that featured silvery embroidery with a mosaic motif. I mostly liked that she swept her hair back into a high ponytail, accentuating her features with makeup and rocked a set of tassel earrings. 8/10

Emily Blunt in Prada
Emily Blunt is another lady that stole the show (always in my opinion) in a gorgeous Prada white column gown with embellished detail. She teamed it with oversized earrings and a matching clutch bag. 8/10

Sandra Oh in Prabal Gurung
Oh my Sandra Oh was just perfect in this monochrome dress by Prabal Gurung, featuring a white top with button sleeve detail along with a contrasting black skirt. I love the keyhole cut-out detail that gave the design a modern twist, plus the overall understated simplicity of the gown. The look was put together effortlessly opting to wore her hair down and in voluminous curls. 9/10

Constance Wu in Rodarte
Constance Wu was one of many stars who donned bangs, but her ensemble was one that could be best described as “fierce fairy”. The actress kept her her hair down and out of the way while also wearing a stunning blush pink Rodarte Spring 2019 gown that featured a lot of sequins and beading details. 9/10

Linda Cardellini in Zuhair Murad
Green Book‘s Linda Cardellini managed to successfully pull off the sheer trend without making it look too racy for award season. This was partly because the actress’ Zuhair Murad dress featured feminine polka-dot print and ladylike ruffles. Her elegant updo finished off the look perfectly. 10/10

There you go my lovelies my faves from the second award show for 2K19 … I’m so looking forward to what the come next 🙂
Until next red carpet,
