Hey there my lovelies,
Last Saturday I dropped by a workshop which in all honest I did not think I needed as much as I know that I get anxious about a long list of things, I felt I know I have them under control! However after attending this workshop this statement is very far off from the truth!
For those of you who do not know who Belle and Stace are let’s get to know them a little bit better. Belle is a pharmacist who is also recovering from Binge eating disorder. She turned her experience with food to a passion in helping others with their wellness journey.
After over 15 years of being in some very dark places as well as some very enlightened places she has managed to find a balance through personal experience as well as studying nutrition, intuitive eating and eating disorders.
On the other hand Stacey is an Aussie mother of 4, divorcee living in Malta for over 25 years. She has turned her life experience of raising 4 kids by herself and her passion for all things beautiful and sweet smelling into a very successful business.
She always wanted to fragrance her home but her children suffered from asthma so she had to come up with something that worked for her and her kids too. That is how she came up with My melts. She also has a passion for helping others and that is how she uses her aromatherapy skills for good.
They both met at an EU funded event called ‘Weight Matters’ as they were both mentors in this project and they found that we were vibrating on very similar frequencies and their strengths complimented each other! Hence they grabbed all this knowledge and started creating these workshop as the know they can help many people overcome difficulties with weight, health and self esteem.
The most commonly answer you hear if you were to ask anyone how they are – stressed! Stress triggers anxiety and anxiety is a widespread condition affecting millions of people worldwide.
Sadly anxiety triggers weight since most of us turn to food! A snack can seem like just the right solution to avoid boredom, loneliness or feeling sorry for yourself. Stress unleashes the hormone cortisol, which stimulates your appetite, and eating actually does make you feel better – at least for a little while.
Food can give you the same type of reward and pleasure that drugs will. So its normal to eat more when you are stressed or feeling anxious. Sounds very familiar right?
However I have to admit these very well organised workshops being carried by two different individuals who through their own experience they are helping other people. After attending this workshop it feels like an easy feat to adapt to another lifestyle, a lifestyle with the sole intention to help manage your anxiety.
One thing you learn during these workshops is to understand food in the sense to know exactly which specific green is better than the other. However in general eating a diet high in vegetables, fruit, legumes, whole grains, and lean protein can be very helpful . However in my opinion the best lesson learned is how to listen to your body which I feel is really hard for me however I am willing to take it more serious.
On the other hand Aromatherapy is the practice of inhaling the scent of essential oils to improve your well-being. By stimulating the smell receptors in your nose, they can send messages to your nervous system. They are also thought to have a subtle effect on the body’s chemical and energy systems. Because of this, aromatherapy is often used as a natural remedy to relieve anxiety and stress.
Stace explanation on finding the right scent for you is not a matter of just smelling it. Anxiety is a illness and like any other illness it has to be targeted for each individual. We are all different and hence our anxiety and panic attacks are different. In fact when contacting Stace for a consultation she gets to know YOU and then proceed in making your scent.
I really walked away from the workshop with a sense of fulfillment and hope that all those anxiety days can be controlled with a bit of self care, self control, the perfect aromatherapy scent and a whole lot of guidance from Stace and Belle.
I do highly recommend check these two ladies and get into touch with them if you are looking for a more holistic approach to tackle you anxiety without having for fork out a lot of monies, and although you cannot put a price on YOUR health it does help put your mind to rest that it is not always excessive amounts of monies.
Until next time,
