Oscars #2 | My night at the ‘Oscars’ 2015

Hello my lovely dolls,

As per last year I am inclined to write a post on the night of the Oscar, and so I did.  Just like Prom night, ‘The Oscars’ night is the most coveted event of the Award season and all celebrities alike make that extra effort to look just perfect for this special night.

As you might be well aware, the Oscars are the most talked about event ever and this year was not least.

So let me start off with that went down during the night.

The Heartfelt Speeches

Winner for Best Supporting Actor JK Simmons reminded everyone if we are lucky to have parents alive, to call them.

Particia Arquette advocated for Women equality once and for all.  Reminding everyone that ‘we have fought for everybody’s equal rights, it is time to have wage equality – once and for all”.

Dana Perry broke my heart when she publicly spoke of her 15 year old son committing suicide where in she said “we need to talk about suicide out loud to try to work against the stigma and silence around suicide because the best prevention for suicide is awareness and discussion and not sweep it under a rug”.

The amzing performances

Common and John Legend left the whole auditorium in tears as they performed ‘Glory’ from ‘Selma’ which later on went on winning the Best Original Song.

And Lady Gaga’s tribute to 50 years of ‘Sound of Music’  brought back all kind of chidhood memories. Hats off Gaga for hitting all those high notes, got Julie Andrews all emotional and proud!

The awkward moment

Both instances, see yet again John Travolta who seems to taken it upon himself to win the award for awkwardness.  After last year’s flubbing of Idina Mendel’s name, this year the ‘Frozen’ star was paired with Travolta to present an award, but whilst he got the name right! He seemed to grab and touch her face a little too much!!! Next year he will be apologizing for that!  Before that he was spotted creeping behind Scarlett Johnsson on the Red Carpet.

The Red Carpet

Last but definitely not the least , onto my favourite frocks from the Red Carpet.

Just a few months after giving birth Zoe Saldana flaunts her sexy curves in a beautiful breathtaking blush pink Versace gown.

Besides having an eye candy on her arm in the likes of her handsome husband Channing Tatum in Dolce and Gabbana, Jenna Dewan Tatum chose this sexy Zuhair Murad and might I add I am in lurve with the dress.

Yet another magical number from Riccardo Tisci for Givenchy, Rosamund Pike stunned in the red strapless textured dress and do not get me started on the nipped-in waist – absolute perfection.

Last but not the least Jennifer Lopez , looking fabulous as ever, and one would not expect anything less than spectacular from Ms. Jenny from the Block.  She worked this beautiful pink  embellished Ellie Saab Couture gown.

With a silhouette like that you can shot a Marchesa dress from miles away and Rita Ora surely has all you need to turn a few heads in the beautiful strapless navy and gold embroidered gown. Yet another stunner.

So my lovelies, that’s a wrap on the Red Carpet season – see you all next year.

Until next time
